If the commissioner gives a person a proposed conditional registration notice, the person may—

within 10 working days after the commissioner gives the person the proposed conditional registration notice, tell the commissioner in writing that the person intends to ask the commissioner to reconsider the decision; and

within 20 working days after the commissioner gives the person the notice, ask the commissioner in writing to reconsider the decision.

In making a request under subsection (1) (b), the person must give the commissioner any new or corrected information the person considers relevant.

If the person asks the commissioner to reconsider the decision, the commissioner must, as soon as practicable—

if the commissioner is satisfied that the condition is unnecessary—register the person unconditionally; or

if the commissioner is satisfied that the condition is necessary—register the person subject to the condition.

Note The commissioner’s decision to register a person subject to a condition is reviewable (see s 61).
