48 Offences—registered person contravene condition of registration
A person commits an offence if—
the person’s registration is subject to a condition; and
the person contravenes a requirement of the condition.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
An offence against subsection (1) is a strict liability offence.
A person commits an offence if—
the person’s registration is subject to a condition; and
the person contravenes a requirement of the condition; and
the person knows, or is reckless about whether, the person is contravening the requirement.
Maximum penalty: 200 penalty units, imprisonment for 2 years or both.
Strict liability applies to subsection (3) (a).
The commissioner may suspend or cancel a person’s registration if the person’s registration is subject to a condition and the person contravenes a requirement of the condition (see s 57 (1)).
