57 Grounds for suspension or cancellation of registration
The commissioner may suspend or cancel a person’s registration if—
the person’s registration is subject to a condition; and
the person contravenes a requirement of the condition; and
the commissioner believes on reasonable grounds that suspension or cancellation is necessary for this Act.
A person commits an offence if the person contravenes a requirement of a condition—see s 48.
If the commissioner decides to conduct an additional risk assessment for a person, the commissioner may suspend the person’s registration while the assessment is conducted.
The commissioner must conduct an additional risk assessment for a person under s 54 if the commissioner believes on reasonable grounds that there is new relevant information about the person.
The commissioner must cancel a person’s registration if the commissioner—
has conducted an additional risk assessment for the person; and
is satisfied that the person poses an unacceptable risk of harm to a vulnerable person.
