43 Effective range of headlights
(1)
When on at night—
(a)
a low-beam headlight fitted to a heavy vehicle must illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle for at least 25m; and
(b)
a high-beam headlight fitted to a heavy vehicle must illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle for at least 50m.
(2)
However, a low-beam headlight fitted to a heavy vehicle built before 1931 need only illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle for 12m.
