24 Grants of financial assistance
The Commission may approve a grant of financial assistance, from moneys standing to the credit of the Account, to —
a person with disability; or
a carer; or
a service provider; or
a service developer.
A grant of financial assistance must not be approved under subsection (1) unless the Commission is satisfied —
that the grant will further the principles in Schedule 1; and
that any service or programme funded by the grant meets the objectives in Schedule 2.
A grant of financial assistance may be made to a public authority.
A grant of financial assistance may be paid in a lump sum or in periodic payments.
Notwithstanding subsection (1), the Commission may, until 31 December 1995, approve a grant of financial assistance if satisfied the recipient will take steps before that date to ensure the principles in Schedule 1 are furthered and the objectives in Schedule 2 are met.
