450 Authorisations under first-aid kit licences—Act, s 20 (1) (a)

(1)

In this section:

authorised medicine, for a first-aid kit, means—

(a)

a medicine stated in the first-aid kit licence for the kit; and

(b)

a pharmacy medicine or pharmacist only medicine for the kit.

(2)

A first-aid kit licence authorises—

(a)

the licence-holder to—

(i)

issue a purchase order for an authorised medicine for the first-aid kit; and

(ii)

obtain on a purchase order an authorised medicine for the first-aid kit; and

(b)

the licence-holder, and anyone else authorised to deal with a medicine by the licence, to—

(i)

possess an authorised medicine as part of the first-aid kit for the emergency treatment of a person’s medical condition; and

(ii)

supply an authorised medicine to someone else who is authorised under the licence to administer the medicine; and

(iii)

administer an authorised medicine in the first-aid kit if the person believes on reasonable grounds that the administration of the medicine is necessary for the emergency treatment of a person’s medical condition.
