397O Application of merit appointment provisions
(1)
Sections 348(1) and (2) and 349 of the Act do not apply to the appointment of a person as the first executive officer of a joint organisation, if the term of appointment is for a period of not more than 12 months.
(2)
However, a joint organisation may comply with any of those provisions if it thinks fit.
