19 Secretary may direct compliance with pipeline management plan
The Secretary may direct a licensee for a pipeline to take action—
to comply with requirements of a pipeline management plan for the pipeline, or
to follow procedures set out or referred to in the plan.
The Secretary may give the direction if the Secretary is of the opinion the licensee—
is not complying with the requirements, or
is not following the procedures.
The direction—
must be given by written order, and
must specify—
the action to be taken, and
the time within which the action must be taken.
The licensee must comply with the direction.
Maximum penalty—
for a corporation—10,000 penalty units and, for a continuing offence, a further 1,000 penalty units for each day the offence continues, or
for an individual—2,000 penalty units and, for a continuing offence, a further 200 penalty units for each day the offence continues.
