32 Notice about death or injury
The licensee for a pipeline must, in accordance with this section, give the Secretary notice of the death or injury of a person caused as a result of an incident involving the construction, maintenance or operation of a pipeline being carried out under the licence.
Maximum penalty—
for a corporation—5,000 penalty units and, for a continuing offence, a further 500 penalty units for each day the offence continues, or
for an individual—1,000 penalty units and, for a continuing offence, a further 100 penalty units for each day the offence continues.
The notice must specify the following—
details of the incident that caused the death or injury,
the number of persons killed,
the number of persons injured,
for each injured person—details of the injuries the person suffered.
The notice must be given—
for a death or an injury requiring treatment at a hospital—immediately, or
otherwise—within 21 days.
Notice must be given under this section—
for subsection (3)(a)—by calling the approved telephone number and sending the notice to the approved email address for this section, or
for subsection (3)(b)—by sending the notice to the approved email address for this section.
