Pipelines Regulation 2023

This section applies if repairs are carried out on a pipeline because of an escape or ignition involving the pipeline.

The licensee for a pipeline must, within 7 days after completing the repairs, give a written report to the Secretary specifying—

the time and place of the escape or ignition, and

the approximate quantity of any substance that escaped or escaped and ignited, and

the damage, if any, that has resulted from the escape or ignition, and

the conditions that caused or contributed to the escape or ignition, and

the repairs, and

the methods used to carry out the repairs.

for a corporation—2,000 penalty units, or

for an individual—400 penalty units.
