19ZI Commissioner may request information about reportable convictions
In this section —
Registrar, of a relevant court, means —
in the case of the Supreme Court — the Principal Registrar of the Supreme Court; or
in the case of the District Court — the Principal Registrar of the District Court; or
in the case of the Magistrates Court — the Principal Registrar of the Magistrates Court; or
in the case of the Children’s Court — a registrar of the Children’s Court;
relevant court means the Supreme Court, the District Court, the Magistrates Court or the Children’s Court.
The Commissioner may request a Registrar of a relevant court to provide information relating to a reportable conviction entered against an employee of a relevant entity that the Commissioner reasonably requires for the purposes of an investigation under the reportable conduct scheme.
The Commissioner is authorised to disclose information obtained under this Division or Division 3 or 4 for the purpose of that request.
A Registrar of a relevant court to whom a request for information is made under subsection (2) is authorised to disclose the information to the Commissioner for the purposes of an investigation under the reportable conduct scheme.
This section applies despite section 13(2).
