83 Preservation of site following serious incident
The responsible notifier who gives notice of a serious incident under section 82 must ensure that the following areas are not used, interfered with or disturbed for a period of 36 hours after notice is given—
the area within a radius of 4m of the place where the serious incident occurred,
the area within a radius of 4m of a place affected by the serious incident.
Maximum penalty—350 penalty units.
This section does not prevent taking action—
to help or remove a trapped or injured person, or
to remove a body, or
to avoid injury to a person or damage to property, or
for a police investigation, or
as authorised or directed by an inspector.
The Interpretation Act 1987, section 36 does not apply to this section.
