418 Return of seized things
(1)
An inspector must return a seized thing to its owner at the end of —
(a)
6 months; or
(b)
if proceedings for an offence involving it are started within the 6 months, the proceedings and any appeal from the proceedings.
(2)
Despite subsection (1), the inspector must return the seized thing to the person immediately the inspector stops being satisfied its retention as evidence is necessary.
