423 Obstruction of inspectors
In this section —
obstruct includes hinder and attempt to obstruct.
A person must not obstruct an inspector, or a person helping an inspector, in the exercise of a power under this Act, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $12 000, or imprisonment for one year, or both.
If a person obstructs an inspector in the exercise of a power under this Act and the inspector decides to exercise the power, the inspector must warn the person.
In warning the person, the inspector must tell the person —
it is an offence to obstruct the inspector, unless the person has a reasonable excuse; and
the inspector considers the person’s conduct is an obstruction.
