420 False or misleading statements
(1)
A person must not state anything to an inspector the person knows is false or misleading in a material particular.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $12 000, or imprisonment for one year, or both.
(2)
It is enough for a prosecution notice lodged for an offence against subsection (1) to state the statement was false or misleading to the person’s knowledge without stating which.
