53 Certificate of inspection
This section applies if an inspecting person—
has complied with section 52 for a stage of assessable building work; and
is satisfied all relevant aspects of the stage have been completed and comply with the building development approval for the work.
The inspecting person must give the builder for the stage of the assessable building work a certificate (a certificate of inspection)—
in the approved form; and
signed by the inspecting person; and
stating—
the reasons the inspecting person is satisfied all relevant aspects of the stage have been completed and comply with the building development approval for the work; and
the extent to which the inspecting person has relied on tests, specifications, rules, standards, codes of practice or other publications.
Notes—
1 If the stage is the final stage, 2 certificates must be given—the certificate of inspection for the final stage and, if particular requirements under the Act are complied with, a final inspection certificate to the owner of the building.
