10 Duty to reduce effect of interruption
A transmitter or distributor must, so far as is reasonably practicable, reduce the effect of any interruption on a customer.
Without limiting subsection (1), a transmitter or distributor must consider whether the transmitter or distributor should supply electricity by alternative means to a customer who will be affected by a proposed interruption if —
the interruption is expected to exceed the relevant period under section 11(2);
the effect of the interruption on the customer’s business is likely to be substantial; or
the transmitter or distributor is aware that a person living in the customer’s premises has special health needs and requires electricity for the operation of equipment that caters to those needs.
