9 Effecting registration, renewal or transfer

Registration, renewal of registration and transfer of registration may be applied for and granted or refused only in accordance with the regulations, Division 2A of this Part and Division 3 of Part 6A.

Subject to the regulations, the fee payable for registration or renewal of registration of a motor vehicle or trailer is 20∙42 fee units.

The regulations may provide that a fee other than the base registration fee, or that no fee, is payable for registration or renewal of registration of any category of motor vehicle or trailer.
