74 Giving way when entering a road from a road related area or adjacent land
A driver entering a road from a road related area or adjacent land, must give way in accordance with this rule if the place on the road is without all of the following—
traffic lights;
stop sign;
stop line;
give way sign;
give way line.
Penalty: 5 penalty units.
The driver entering the road must give way to—
any vehicle travelling on the road or turning into the road (except a vehicle turning right into the road from a road related area or adjacent land); and
Rule 74(2)(aa) inserted by S.R. No. 121/2020 rule 6(1).
a driver making a U-turn on the road; and
any pedestrian on the road; and
any vehicle or pedestrian on any road related area that the driver crosses to enter the road; and
for a driver entering the road from a road related area—
any pedestrian on the road related area; and
any other vehicle ahead of the driver's vehicle or approaching from the left or right.
