31 Application for investigation into a fire
(1)
A person may request a coroner to investigate a fire.

(1A)
The Institute may, on behalf of a coroner, receive a request made by a person under subsection (1).

(1B)
If the Institute receives a request under subsection (1A), the Institute must refer that request to a coroner as soon as practicable after receiving that request.
(2)
If a coroner refuses a request to investigate a fire, the coroner must give written reasons for the refusal to the person who made the request.
