Release of body

47 Release of body

(1)

The coroner may order that a body under the control of the coroner be released if—

(a)

the coroner is satisfied that it is no longer necessary for the coroner to have control of the body in order to exercise his or her functions under this Act; or

(b)

the coroner has determined that the death was not a reportable death or a reviewable death.

(2)

An order made by the coroner under subsection (1)—

(a)

must specify a person to whom the body is to be released; and

(b)

may contain any terms or conditions that the coroner considers necessary.
