22 Offences to cause another person to receive a higher radiation dose than is prescribed
A person must not, when conducting a radiation practice in relation to a radiation source, knowingly, recklessly or negligently cause another person to receive a radiation dose that is greater than the dose limit that is prescribed.
- In the case of a natural person, 600 penalty units;
In the case of a body corporate, 3000 penalty units.
A person must not, when using a radiation source, knowingly, recklessly or negligently cause another person to receive a radiation dose that is greater than the dose limit that is prescribed.
- 240 penalty units.
An offence under subsection (1) is an indictable offence.
Subsection (1) or (2) does not apply if the other person receives the radiation dose during the course, or for the purposes, of any treatment for, or diagnosis of, an illness or injury.
