23 Offences to cause serious harm to the environment
(1)
A person must not, when conducting a radiation practice in relation to a radiation source, knowingly, recklessly or negligently cause serious harm to the environment.
- In the case of a natural person, 1800 penalty units;
In the case of a body corporate, 9000 penalty units.
(2)
A person must not, when using a radiation source, knowingly, recklessly or negligently cause serious harm to the environment.
- 1200 penalty units.
(3)
An offence under subsection (1) or (2) is an indictable offence.
