82 Authorised officers to give receipts for seized things and samples taken
If an authorised officer seizes a thing, or takes a sample of, or from, a thing at a place under this Part, the officer must give a receipt for the thing to the person in charge of the thing or the place from which it was taken.
A receipt must—
identify the thing seized or sample taken; and
state the name of the authorised officer who seized the thing or took the sample and the reason why the thing was seized or the sample was taken.
If for any reason it is not practicable for an authorised officer to comply with subsection (1), the authorised officer may—
leave the receipt at the place in a conspicuous position and in a reasonably secure way; or
send the receipt, by post, to the occupier of the place from where the thing was seized or the sample was taken.
