Particular hearings not generally open to public
694 Particular hearings not generally open to public
This section applies to the following proceedings—
an appeal under chapter 13 to the Mental Health Court;
a review under division 9 of the detention of a person.
The hearing of the proceeding must not be open to the public unless the court, by order, directs that the hearing or part of the hearing be open to the public.
However, the court may make an order directing that a hearing or part of a hearing be open to the public only if the court is satisfied—
the person the subject of the proceeding has agreed to the order; and
the order will not result in serious harm to the person’s health or risk the safety of anyone else.
This section is subject to section 695.
