Forensic material lawfully obtained in another jurisdiction
535 Forensic material lawfully obtained in another jurisdiction
This section applies to forensic material lawfully obtained under the law of another jurisdiction, whether before or after the commencement of this section.
The material may be retained and used in this State for performing a function of the police service despite the material having been obtained in circumstances in which this Act would not authorise the material to be obtained, or under requirements that are less stringent, or otherwise substantially different to, the requirements that would apply under this Act.
In this section—forensic material means anything obtained by performing a forensic procedure and includes the results of the analysis of the thing.
