Making draft water plan

(1)

Before finalising a water plan the Minister must make a draft of the plan.

(2)

The Minister must consider all of the following in making a draft of a water plan—

(a)

regional plans made under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 that apply to the plan area;

(b)

environmental values established under the Environmental Protection (Water) Policy 2009;

(c)

if the draft water plan is within the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin—the Murray-Darling Basin Plan under the Water Act 2007 (Cwlth);

(e)

the public interest;

(f)

the results of any public consultation under section 44;

(g)

the water-related effects of climate change on water availability;

(h)

the interests of any Aboriginal parties or Torres Strait Islander parties in relation to the water resources for the plan area.
