Water Act 2000

A person may claim compensation from a measurement contractor if the person incurs loss or expense because of the exercise or purported exercise of a power under this Act by the measurement contractor.

Payment of compensation may be claimed and ordered in a proceeding for compensation brought in a court of competent jurisdiction.

A court may order the payment of compensation for the loss or expense only if it is satisfied it is just to make the order in the circumstances of the particular case.

For this section, loss or expense does not include loss or expense caused by the act of removing vegetation or any other thing.
