12-oc.6 12 Construction of references to Department of Local Government and Co-operatives

(1)

In any document, a reference to the Department of Local Government and Co-operatives is to be construed as a reference to the Department of Local Government, except as provided by subclauses (2) and (3).

(2)

In any document, a reference to the Department of Local Government and Co-operatives is to be construed as a reference to the Department of Consumer Affairs if the reference is used in or in relation to legislation administered by the Minister for Consumer Affairs.

(3)

Without limiting the operation of subclause (2), the reference, in the definition of “Registrar” in section 5 of the Co-operatives Act 1992, to the head of the Department of Local Government and Co-operatives is to be construed as a reference to the head of the Department of Consumer Affairs.
